Chicago-area Diwali gatherings will celebrate Hindu festival of lights ahead of October 20, including in Naperville.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, is Monday, October 20.

Jyoti Chand, author of "Fitting Indian," and Muryem Quadri, Kismet Studio cofounder, joined ABC& Thursday to talk more about the annual tradition.

They are hosting a community Diwali party for over 300 people on Sunday, October 12 at the Embassy Suites in Naperville.
